Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in America. The actress is an actress, singer and dancer. One of her first Broadway performances included Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. The Tony Award was given to Ashford for her role as Essie Carmichael, in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley Tony Award winning actor and actress has collaborated with directors and actors on stage and screen for the entirety of her professional career. Ashford will be next seen alongside Kumail Nannjiani on Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford is currently in the making of Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson. As it is a Hulu Original, the film is available on Disney DTC's platforms. Ashford will return to Broadway in the month of March 2023 with the role of Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production is at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will direct the production. Ashford was most recently seen in the role of Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The show centers around the National Crisis that saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the middle of the country's First Impeachment Proceedings during the Over an Century. Her two seasons on CBS show B Positive was her first significant character. In addition, she appeared on the hit series created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured the legendary actresses Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. A veteran of Broadway Ashford has been awarded both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her role as Essie. Her additional Broadway roles include Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the lead role in Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she also received a Tony Award nomination. Ashford lives in Los Angeles & New York. She was born in Denver & raised there.
